Legal Trends
Description: Legal Trends is an information resource for judges, lawyers, academicians and law students promoting therapeutic and social justice and new peacemaking concepts in the practice and dispensation of law. Legal Trends is Gina's pro bono effort in helping to instill a new idealism in the practice of law and to increase satisfaction within the profession. Legal Trends explores therapeutic ideals, and presents information on legal marketing and practice management, professional coaching, lawyer happiness and more humanistic approaches to legal education.
The research behind creating Legal Trends pushed Gina to found of the Community Restorative Garden Initiative, an alternative sentencing juvenile justice program aimed at reducing non-violent incarceration in youth. Currently in partnership with Western Carolina University, the program is being developed to serve all 50 states and has a self-monetizing component. The therapeutic portions of the program will include passion-based education and creativity development while emphasizing creative problem solving and life skills in an organic farming environment.
Application: Legal Trends is a custom application built on the open-source platform, Drupal. The CMS employed on this site is utilized by some of the largest corporations on the globe. Originally conceived as a social network for lawyers, it was a bit ahead of its time, as even Martindale-Hubbell only employed its legal social network in 2010. Profiling is available for users, providing yet another lawyer of branding for the legal profession. In early 2011, Gina incorporated Legal Trends into GinaDrew.Com Legal Marketing as the company's personal blog space. Still available for publishing to unlimited sources, we are now taking advantage of the platform to increase our services to attorneys in a very real way.
